RELIGIOUS TRIP AT AFFORDABLE COST

Hi readers, earning your memories for life are very important, but at the same time you should not spend without necessity. There is a proverb "A penny saved is a penny earned."  Be wise when you plan a trip. It is always advisable to travel by train or bus when it comes to holy trip. The reason is, you will be visiting only the particular place you planned, and standing in Que for dharshan and your Poojas will take most of your time.

It was our first trip in train by the way and since i do not have an IRCTC login, I took my cousin's help to book the tickets.  My wife got up so early and she prepared the typical Tamarind rice and Lemon rice, which are identified to be the best travel food of all times. We reached the Coimbatore railway station on time.

Jan Shatabdi Express (12084) departs from Coimbatore Junction at 07:10 a.m every day except Tuesday currently.  The cost of the ticket till Thanjavur is Rs. 160 for non-AC and 540 for AC chair car.

We suddenly planned to get down at Trichy and visited my school friend there and went to Sri Ranganathar temple. The buses depot is located just opposite to the main railway station and the temple is not so far from the station.

Saibaba temple located in Trichy is one of the biggest in Asia. You must visit this place for its architecture. It is quite far and you have to go by taxi. Ola is main taxi operator in the region. You have an Ola counter at the Railway station or you can book by Ola app.

                                              Saibaba Temple, Samayapuram, Trichy.

There are passenger trains running between Trichy and Thanjavur and it is your choice to opt for trains or buses considering the time.  We boarded on a passenger train at night and reached Thanjavur, which is just an hour travel. If you are really tired of travelling and looking for some refreshment (Cheers.......), its just 20-feet to your right when you come out of the Thanjavur railway station.  When i was in train, i was checking for accommodation and booked at Oriental towers, located near the station, a 5-minute walk (Strictly no auto).

Do not judge the price by its size. There are good people too. They charge just Rs. 900 per day!!! oh my goodness. You can order food online.  Few bars are located just opposite to the hotel and the Yagappa Bar is quite pleasant and beautiful venue.

Hotel Yagappa for refreshment and they have good rooms as well.

The next day morning, we visited the Thanjavur big temple.  Please take your children and show them the architecture, the history, and braveness of our Tamil kings to them. There are so many places to visit in Thanjavur. The Tanjore thalai-aati bombai is famous in the city and do not buy inside the temple or on the roads. There are two shops opposite to the Tanjore Museum and they sell it very cheap. Sharing some pictures of my trip and hope you will also enjoy the historical places when you visit. Keep in my mind, plan before you start your travel.
